  • Tennis Balls

    • There are variety of tennis balls used based on the age and height or skill level of a player. The table below helps explain each of the balls in comparison to the standard yellow tennis balls used in playing.Balls table
    • “Dead” yellow tennis balls are usually unpleasant to play with when playing matches and games. To test to see if a ball is “dead”, hold the ball as high up as your head and then drop it. If it doesn’t reach around your waistline, the ball is “dead”.
  • Sneakers

    • Comfortable, sturdy shoes are recommended when playing tennis. If you are playing at a private tennis court, you may want to consider wearing a shoe with a non-marking sole if you plan on being allowed on that court again.
  • Athletic Clothing

    • Tennis provides an intense workout and to be comfortable during the entire time playing, breathable clothes like athletic shorts/skorts/skirts and a t-shirt or an athletic short dress are recommended.
  • Sun Protection

    • Currently all tennis courts in Trinidad and Tobago are outdoor, so make sure to apply some sunblock, moisturize your lips, wear a sun visor or cap, and if necessary wear a pair of sunglasses.
  • Hydration

    • Bring lots of water and/or an electrolyte drink or supplement to replace the fluids and salts lost while playing.
